Silverlake Flats
About The Location
Silverlake Flats is one of the most beautiful shooting areas you will find in Utah. High, snow covered mountains, beautiful aspen trees, a lake, wildflowers and forest paths all make this the perfect shoot location for whatever type of photography you do. The gate to get to Silverlake Flats is closed just past Tibble Fork Reservoir from December until Memorial Day. Also, since Silverlake Flats is a reservoir, the water lever varies greatly from Memorial day to November when the lake closes again. If you wait till Fall to get pictures of the lake, you will most likely find the lake almost empty. The road up to Silverlake Flats is very rough, and off-road vehicles are recommended.

Parking
There is a small parking lot here that always seems to be almost full. However you can park on the side of the road leading up to the parking lot if you cannot find a space.
Fees
Visitors to American Fork Canyon are charged a $6 entrance fee that is good for up to three days. A week pass is $12 and an annual pass is $45. However, I recommend that you purchase a National Parks pass for $80 which covers more than 2,000 federal recreation sites across the country, including all the national parks. You can purchase one here.
